Hey There!
Your stumbling upon my page is no coincidence – you were destined to be here.
I created this space for people like you.
Someone who loves community.
Someone who loves books.
Someone who loves sharing their love of books with others who love books.
Someone who believes in the power of storytelling, and the power of the written word.
And, someone who believes in destiny over fate. You and I had an “appointment” to meet up here on this platform, at this particular time.
Ooh! – that gives you chills, doesn’t it?
So, a very divine welcome to this book lovers’ community!
UPDATE:
When I first envisioned this website, my goal was to build the biggest, and best, book club community in the world.
A place where book lovers could come together to share their love of books and storytelling. After all, I am a writer and author, as well as an entrepreneur.
But since this site first went live, it has evolved into so much more. Destiny Divine has become a healing space for Black Americans.
Because I am a Black woman in need of mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual healing I thought we could walk this journey together.
I believe that books heal ignorance. That knowledge heals fear. That community heals isolation. That entrepreneurship heals dependence. That food and nature heal the body. And that truth – even when it is uncomfortable – heals the spirit.
I created LaShay Jackson – CEO, founder, and the heart of You Build Like An Egyptian: One Woman’s Quest to Build a Successful Business Empire – and watched in quiet amazement as LaShay grew beyond the page into a YouTube channel, a podcast, a course, and a community.
I wrote the Blueprint for Black Americans because the moment demanded it.
I built the Divine Readers Community because my people deserve a space of their own.
I center healing in everything I create – because I have needed healing myself, and because I know I am not alone in that.
I built this space for you.
All of it. Every word, every resource, every community space, every lesson, every blueprint.
For you.
So come on in, the water is stirred and ready for you to step right in.
And while you’re here, make sure you join the Divine Readers Community. I’m sure you’ll find a space to belong there.

WHO AM I?
Hi! I’m Destiny. Celebrated author and storyteller.
Destiny Divine is the pen name I chose to write under, not to hide my identity but to reveal my truth while protecting my privacy.
Writing is my sacred vessel, a means through which I give voice to the deepest thoughts of my heart.
I strive to create compelling characters and intricate storylines that resonate with truth and emotion.
Each word is crafted with care, hoping to touch lives and illuminate the beauty of storytelling.
FUN FACTS
ABOUT ME
+ I live in the American midwest.
+ I am a beautifully melanated woman with kinky curly hair.
+ I’ve never dreamed of becoming a writer and author – but I believe I was destined to be one.
+ Most of the characters I write about are strong, confident, formidable Black women I wish I could be like, if I had the courage.
+ I dream of one day owning 50 + acres of land, and I want to build a two-story library in my dream home.
+ My most productive time to write is in the wee hours of the morning.
+ The author pic that I use on my books – the one of me looking slightly down (the strategic obscure) – was a picture I took of myself trying on a new wig (Sherri Shepherd Feathered Pixie Wig). This pic works perfectly for my brand. Enough to feel a human presence and connection, but not enough to identify me in a lineup!

WHY DO I WRITE UNDER A PEN NAME?
I’m an author who lives at the intersection of two identities: writing non-fiction under my real name and exploring stories of resilience, self-discovery, and hidden struggles under my pen name.
For decades, I carried a private experience with Trichotillomania (a compulsive hair-pulling disorder), believing it was a story I could never tell. When the urge to write “Confessions of a 50-Year-Old Compulsive Hair Puller” became undeniable, I faced the very dilemma this series explores.
Using my real name felt too exposing. Staying silent felt untrue.
The solution was the pen name Destiny Divine. It was never about hiding. It was about creating a protected, intentional space—a veil that provided the safety needed for profound vulnerability.
That name didn’t conceal my voice; it gave me the courage to use it fully for the first time. It allowed me to separate this vulnerable narrative from my other professional work, yet it became a legitimate and powerful author identity in its own right.
